Breast augmentation in Korea is known for natural-looking results, careful implant sizing and a wide choice of implant brands, at prices below most Western countries. This guide covers the options, what to ask about implants, recovery and how to choose a clinic.

The main procedures

Breast augmentation with implants

The most common procedure. Choices to discuss with the surgeon:

• Implant type: smooth or micro-textured silicone gel; round or anatomical (teardrop). Many Korean clinics offer several brands.
• Placement: under the muscle (dual plane) is most common for slim patients; over the muscle for those with more tissue.
• Incision: inframammary fold (under the breast) is standard; armpit (transaxillary) and areola incisions are also offered.
• Size: decided with 3D simulation or sizers during the in-person consultation.

Fat grafting (autologous fat transfer)

Fat is taken by liposuction from the abdomen or thighs and injected into the breast. Suits patients who want a modest, natural increase and slimmer body areas; some fat is reabsorbed, so a second session may be planned.

Breast lift (mastopexy)

Raises and reshapes sagging breasts; often combined with a small implant.

Breast reduction

Reduces size and weight to relieve back and shoulder strain and improve proportion.

Nipple, areola and accessory breast surgery

Inverted nipple correction, areola reduction, and removal of accessory (axillary) breast tissue.

Revision breast surgery

Implant exchange, capsular contracture treatment, correction of position or symmetry.

Cost in Korea

The implant brand and type is the biggest price factor, followed by placement technique and whether a lift is added. Fat grafting is priced by the areas harvested and the number of sessions. A quote should state the implant brand and model, the anaesthesia, the compression garment and the follow-up plan, and whether implant warranty registration is included. Recovery timeline

• Day 0–3: soreness and tightness; most patients go home the same day or after one night.
• Week 1: stitches checked or removed; light daily activity.
• Week 2: many patients fly home after the second check.
• Week 4–6: return to exercise gradually; implants begin to settle.
• Month 3–6: final shape as implants drop and soften.
