Mimi FAQ — Fees, consultations, interpretation and booking

Answers to the questions international patients ask most about using Mimi to consult Korean clinics: fees and deposits, how chat and video consultations work, medical interpretation, quotes, booking, cancellations and privacy.

These are the questions we are asked most often by patients planning plastic surgery, skin treatments, dental work or eye surgery in Korea. If your question is not here, message us at cs@mi-mi.co.kr or ask the clinic directly in the app.

FAQ

How much does it cost to use Mimi?

Nothing for browsing, chatting with clinics and requesting quotes. Mimi does not charge brokerage fees, booking fees or deposits, and clinics do not pay Mimi a commission on your treatment. A video consultation with a doctor may carry a consultation fee that the doctor sets; the fee is shown before you book, and new members currently receive a free consultation voucher during the launch promotion.

How do I contact a clinic?

Open the clinic or procedure page and tap the consultation button. You can start a chat consultation (MimiTalk) with the clinic's coordinator, or book a video consultation with a doctor. Both work in your language.

How does the medical interpretation work?

In chat, your messages and the clinic's replies are translated automatically in real time. In video consultations, live interpretation runs during the call and you receive a written consultation summary afterwards. You do not need to bring your own interpreter.

What is the difference between a chat consultation and a video consultation?

A chat consultation is a private one-to-one message thread with the clinic. It is free, you can send photos, and you can take your time. A video consultation is a scheduled face-to-face call with the doctor, best for getting a doctor's opinion on your specific case before you book surgery.

Can I get quotes from several clinics at once?

Yes. Use the quote request feature: choose the area you are interested in, describe your goals, attach a few photos, and several verified clinics will reply with estimates. You compare the replies in one place and continue the conversation with the clinics you like.

Are the prices on the site the final price?

No. Prices shown are starting prices entered by each clinic for a standard case. The final cost depends on your consultation, the method chosen, anaesthesia, and any additional procedures. Ask the clinic for a written quote before you travel.

Do I need to pay a deposit to book?

Mimi does not require a deposit or reservation fee. Individual clinics may have their own policies for surgery dates; ask the clinic in chat and get the terms in writing.

How do I book a visit date?

After your consultation, confirm the date with the clinic in the app. Your bookings and conversations are kept in one place so you can see your schedule and the clinic's instructions before you fly.

Can I cancel or change a consultation?

Chat consultations have no time slot, so you simply stop or resume the conversation. Video consultations can be cancelled or rescheduled in the app before the appointment time; check the notice shown when you book for the latest cancellation window.

Do I need to speak Korean?

No. Clinic pages are translated, consultations are interpreted, and clinics on Mimi are used to international patients. Bringing a friend who speaks Korean is not necessary.

Is my information private?

Your photos and consultation details are shared only with the clinic you contact. They are not sold to other clinics or advertisers. See the Privacy Policy linked in the footer for details.

Can I use Mimi without the app?

You can browse clinics, procedures, prices and reviews and start a chat consultation on this website. Video consultations, notifications and booking management are available in the mimi app for iOS and Android.

What if I have a problem with a clinic?

Contact cs@mi-mi.co.kr with your booking details. Mimi is not a party to the medical transaction and cannot decide medical disputes, but we can help you reach the clinic and make sure your case is heard.

Does Mimi provide medical advice?

No. Mimi does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. All medical decisions are made in direct consultation with the licensed doctor you choose.
