CASE 01. When the nose is slightly short but the nostrils are not visible (Nasal Tip Extension)

*A - Implant

❶ An implant or autologous tissue is used to increase the height of the nasal root, making the nose appear longer.

*B - Autologous Cartilage

❷ Ear cartilage or other material is inserted at the front of the nasal tip to make the nose appear longer.

CASE 02. An upturned nose with a very short nasal length and visible nostrils (Septal Extension Grafting)

❶ The alar cartilage is separated from the dorsal cartilage and moved downward.

*A - Cartilage Fixation

❷ Autologous cartilage is grafted into the space created by lowering the alar cartilage to secure the repositioned cartilage.

*B - Cartilage Grafting

❸ If the nasal tip is excessively upturned, autologous cartilage is grafted to the front of the nasal tip to lower it.

CASE 03. When the nose is short and the alar rim is retracted upward

❶ Alar Cartilage Repositioning

The septal cartilage can be repositioned downward to lower the alar rim.

❷ Autologous Cartilage Grafting

Autologous cartilage, such as ear cartilage or septal cartilage, is harvested and grafted along the edge of the alar rim to lower it.
