When the alar cartilages are spread apart, they are gathered and securely sutured to create a more refined, elevated nasal tip.

❷ When weak nasal tip cartilage causes drooping

When the nasal tip droops due to weak tip cartilage, an autologous cartilage columellar strut is placed and secured, then the alar cartilages are gathered to create a beautiful nasal tip.
