Dental implants, veneers and orthodontics in Korea — treatment options, cost and trip planning

A guide to dental treatment in Korea for international patients — implants and the two-visit timeline, laminate and no-prep veneers, cosmetic dentistry, clear aligners and braces, TMJ treatment, what is included in prices, and live starting prices from verified Korean dental clinics on Mimi.

Written by the Mimi team

Korean dental clinics combine high-end digital equipment (3D CT, intra-oral scanners, in-house milling) with prices well below those in North America, Australia and Japan. Implants and veneers are the treatments most often booked by international patients. This guide explains the options, the timeline for implants, and what to check before booking.

The main treatments

Dental implants

A titanium fixture replaces the root, then an abutment and crown are attached. Korean clinics commonly use domestic and international implant brands. For most cases the crown is placed after the implant integrates with the bone (3–6 months); some cases allow an immediate temporary crown.

Veneers and laminates

Thin porcelain shells bonded to the front teeth for shape and colour. "No-prep" veneers remove little or no enamel; conventional laminates remove a thin layer. Usually completed within one week including the trial fitting.

Cosmetic dentistry

Whitening, gum contouring, resin bonding and all-ceramic crowns, often combined with veneers for a smile makeover.

Orthodontics

Clear aligners and conventional braces. Long treatments need a plan for remote monitoring or transfer to a local orthodontist; ask before starting.

General dental care and TMJ

Cleaning, fillings, root canals, wisdom tooth extraction and TMJ (jaw joint) treatment are available at the same clinics.

Cost in Korea

Implants are priced per tooth and usually include the fixture, abutment and crown, with bone grafts and sinus lifts quoted separately. Veneers are priced per tooth and vary by material. A quote should specify the implant brand, the crown material and the warranty. The live table above shows the starting prices clinics on Mimi have entered.

Planning the trip

  • Implants: typically two visits — placement (2–4 days, including CT and any extraction), then the crown 3–6 months later (2–4 days). Some clinics can coordinate the second stage with a dentist at home.
  • Veneers and cosmetic work: one visit of 5–7 days covers the consultation, preparation, trial and final bonding.
  • Whitening, cleaning, fillings: one or two appointments in a single trip.

Tell the clinic your dates in the first message so the lab schedule fits your stay.

How to choose a dental clinic

  • A clinic with its own 3D CT and digital scanning, and a prosthodontist or implant specialist for complex work.
  • Clear information on implant brand, crown material and warranty terms.
  • Before & after photos of veneer and implant cases.
  • A written plan for follow-up and for the second implant stage.

FAQ

How much does a dental implant cost in Korea?

Priced per tooth, usually including the fixture, abutment and crown; bone grafts are extra. The live table on this page shows starting prices entered by dental clinics on Mimi; ask which brand the quote uses.

Can implants be done in one trip?

The fixture is placed on the first trip and the final crown usually after 3–6 months of healing, so two trips are common. Some cases qualify for immediate loading; the CT decides.

How long do veneers take?

Usually 5–7 days in one trip: consultation and preparation, a trial fitting, then bonding of the final veneers.

Do Korean clinics offer warranties?

Many clinics offer a warranty on implants and prosthetics for a defined period; ask for the terms in writing and whether they apply to international patients.

Can I continue orthodontic treatment at home?

For aligners, some clinics plan remote monitoring; for braces, you will need a local orthodontist to take over. Confirm the arrangement before starting.
