① Turbinate hypertrophy

Enlargement caused by allergic vasomotor rhinitis or a deviated septum, among other causes, narrowing the nasal cavity and causing functional problems

② Deviated nasal septum

A deviated nasal septum refers to a condition in which the membrane that divides the inside of the nose in half is bent. The deviation may cause complex issues, such as turbinate enlargement and nasal congestion.

③ Nasal valve stenosis

Causes nasal congestion and breathing discomfort due to upper septal deformity or collapse of the weak lateral nasal wall

④ Inferior turbinectomy

Symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and nasal congestion that occur in allergic rhinitis and chronic hypertrophic rhinitis are mostly caused by abnormalities of the inferior turbinates.

Functional Rhinoplasty Procedures

01 Turbinate Hypertrophy

① The bone inside the inferior turbinate is fractured and moved outward.

② A Coblator radiofrequency device is used to ablate the hypertrophied mucosa, reducing the turbinate.

③ Adequate breathing space is secured for comfortable breathing.

02 Deviated Nasal Septum

① After incising and removing the deviated portion of the septal cartilage, the septal cartilage is straightened into the space created.

② The procedure is completed with the nasal septum fully straightened.

03 Nasal Valve Stenosis

① Cartilage is grafted between the septal cartilage and the sidewall of the nose to widen the nasal cavity.

② Nasal valve stenosis is corrected by widening the nasal cavity.

04 Inferior Turbinectomy

① The mucosa of the hypertrophied inferior turbinate is elevated.

② The hypertrophied bone and soft tissue are resected from the anterior one-third.

③ The bone is covered with the preserved mucosa, and the procedure is completed.
