Depending on the surgical method, double eyelid surgery may be categorized into the non-incisional method, partial-incision method, and incisional method. Since your eye shape and condition play an important role in designing the double eyelid line, the appropriate surgical type is determined through one-on-one personalized consultation.

Non-Incisional Method

Suitable for eyes with eyelid skin and muscles that are not thick and without sagging. As a non-incisional surgical method, it leaves no scars and causes less swelling, resulting in a very natural appearance.

Without making an incision in the skin, small holes are made where the double eyelid line will be. Thread and a needle are passed through to create the double eyelid, and the sutures are positioned inside the eyelid to secure the line, so they do not need to be removed later. Yerom’s non-incisional method uses a double-knot technique to create a double eyelid line with reduced concern about loosening.

Partial-Incision Method

Combines the advantages of the non-incisional and incisional methods to create a more defined double eyelid line than the non-incisional method

A complementary method that combines the non-incisional and incisional methods and is suitable for cases with thick eyelids but little tendency to swell and no skin sagging. Like the non-incisional method, sutures are tied through small openings to create double eyelids, and fat can be removed through a small 2–3 mm incision. Swelling tends to be minimal and recovery is relatively quick, while it can also help prevent outer eyelid skin sagging caused by fat to some extent.

Incisional Method

A surgical method suitable for those who want a defined and distinct double eyelid line

Suitable for those with sagging eyelids or thick skin, muscle, and fat layers. Through a skin incision, excess eyelid skin, fat, or muscle is removed and double eyelids are created along the designed line. This method can create distinct double eyelids and is long-lasting because loosening rarely occurs. After incising the skin along the planned double eyelid line, an appropriate amount of skin, muscle, fat, and connective tissue is removed according to the eyelid condition to create a defined and secure double eyelid line.
