01 Bulbous Nose Correction

A bulbous nose refers to a nose with a round, blunt-looking, and enlarged nasal tip. Bulbous nose surgery corrects the thick skin and fat layer covering the nasal tip to improve overall facial balance and create a more refined nasal shape.

Bulbous Nose Surgery Methods

When the nasal cartilages are spread apart

① Before surgery

② The nasal cartilages are brought together at the center and sutured to create a more defined nasal tip.

③ Subcutaneous fat is removed, and the cartilage is firmly supported at the nasal tip to create a defined, slim nasal tip.

When the skin of the nasal tip is thick

① Before surgery

② Subcutaneous fat is removed, and the cartilage is firmly supported at the nasal tip to create a defined, slim nasal tip.

When the alar cartilage of the nasal tip is large

① Before surgery

② The two crura of the alar cartilage are trimmed to leave approximately 5–8 mm, and the separated area is sutured.

③ The cartilage is sutured together, and a support structure is created using autologous tissue to form a more defined nasal tip.

02 Alar Reduction

This procedure is performed when the nostrils are large and spread laterally, and is carried out using a relatively simple method. The procedure is performed on the inner or lower side of the nose, leaving scars that are barely visible.

① An incision is made beneath the nostrils.

② A suture is used to tie the area between both nostrils, bringing the nasal tip inward.
