NANA Plastic Surgery's implant-free rhinoplasty does not use artificial implants such as Silicone implant or Gore-Tex. Instead, it uses Ear Cartilage, Septal Cartilage, Rib Cartilage, autologous dermis, and temporal fascia, reducing the risk of inflammation and problems such as thinning skin.

If an Implant inserted during a previous procedure has shifted or become visible through the skin, or if capsular contracture has developed due to inflammation at the nasal tip, it can be improved through implant-free rhinoplasty. A: Implant-free rhinoplasty is performed by grafting tissue and Dermal Graft without using an Implant. Therefore, as the grafted tissue heals, absorption and engraftment occur, and the height may change after surgery. On average, 60–70% of the grafted tissue remains, and after absorption, it is maintained semi-permanently. The absorption rate of grafted tissue may vary between individuals.

01 / Washing Your Face, Showering, and Makeup

You may wash your face and apply makeup starting the day after sutures are removed from the columella area.

Until the splint and tape are removed, wipe areas other than the surgical site with a damp towel. You may wash your face and apply makeup starting the day after sutures are removed from the columella area. When washing your face, do not rub the nose area vigorously or apply pressure. It is recommended to wear glasses only after one month and to avoid saunas and steam rooms for one month.

02 / Progress

Slight bleeding and a runny nose may occur for 2–3 days after surgery.

Please avoid blowing your nose forcefully for one month after surgery. After one month, you may blow your nose gently.

When Ear Cartilage is used, pain or changes in sensation may occur for up to 6 months.

If Ear Cartilage was used during surgery, pain or changes in sensation when touched may occur for up to 6 months. In most cases, pain and sensory abnormalities improve over time, so there is no need to worry.

03 / Swelling Management

Facial swelling may remain for one month after surgery.

It is normal for nasal swelling to occur unevenly on each side or to subside at different rates, making the nose appear asymmetrical. Visible asymmetry caused by swelling will improve over time as the swelling completely resolves.

Please apply warm and cold compresses at the appropriate times after surgery.

Cold compresses are recommended for the first 3 days after surgery to help prevent bleeding and reduce swelling. From the 4th day onward, warm compresses are recommended for effective swelling and bruising management.

04 / Wound Care

Please visit the clinic for dressing changes and removal of the splint and sutures.

If there is nasal packing or gauze dressing behind the ear due to the use of Ear Cartilage, visit the treatment room 2–3 days after surgery to have the packing and gauze removed and receive disinfection. Removal of the nasal splint and sutures is performed at the treatment room 6–7 days after surgery.

Please use the prescribed ointment for care.

After surgery, twice daily in the morning and evening, use a cotton swab moistened with saline to clean the inside of the nose and the incision line, then apply a thin layer of the prescribed ointment.

05 / Alcohol and Smoking

Avoid alcohol and smoking for one month after surgery.

Because alcohol and smoking can adversely affect bleeding, wound healing, and infection, we recommend abstaining from them for one month after surgery.

06 / Sleeping Position

Please check the recommended sleeping positions for the first 3 months after surgery.

For the first week after surgery, avoid bending your neck while sleeping. Keeping your upper body elevated so that your head is above your heart can help swelling subside more quickly. Also, do not sleep on your side or stomach; sleep facing upward with your Face toward the ceiling.
