Hello. I had surgery on May 31 and had my stitches removed today. I had double eyelid surgery with the buried suture method 21 years ago, but it came undone within a year, so I had incisional double eyelid surgery the following year and have lived with that ever since. Originally, my right eye had a scar from an eye surgery I had as a child (I am not sure whether it was for stye removal). Even during my double eyelid surgery 20 years ago, I was often told that my right eye would inevitably look different from the left, that the line near the inner corner would be thick and the back part thin, and that it could not be helped because of the scar I already had. If possible, I wanted an even line, but I kept hearing that it could not be done, so I just accepted it and lived with it. As a lot of time passed, and after giving birth and raising my child, I kept losing facial fat, so the hollowness in my eyelids became worse. Also, it seemed that the strength to open my right eye became especially weaker, so people increasingly told me that I looked tired or in pain. Still, the double eyelid surgery itself had turned out fairly naturally, so most people did not really notice, and I wondered whether I really needed revision surgery, so I thought about it a lot. Starting about two years ago, I got forehead Botox, and if the force of opening my eyes with my forehead was reduced a little, the droopy look seemed less noticeable, so I thought maybe I could just live like that. But from this year, even with Botox, it felt like the strength to open especially my right eye had become too weak, and my eyes looked too sleepy, so I decided to go ahead with surgery. For my left eye (the right side in the photo), a slightly drooping part was trimmed, and the line was actually reduced by 1 mm compared to the previous line to match the existing double eyelid crease. I was told that lowering the line would actually suit my eye shape better, so I said I would follow that recommendation. ^^ For my right eye (the left side in the photo), since it was the more problematic eye ㅠㅠ, as I remember, ptosis correction was done and a bit more fat grafting was added, and I think the director also said that, if possible, they would try to smooth out the scar from childhood so that it could go inside the double eyelid line. Because of my existing semi-permanent eyeliner, the inner corner of my right eye may look darker and less visible due to the uneven double eyelid line, but I am so amazed that the line itself now continues evenly!!! The swelling was also not as bad as I had worried. Due to my circumstances, I had the stitches removed today on day 7, but the swelling had been almost gone since last Friday. This is how it was even though I could not use cold compresses because of the fat grafting. ^^ It was revision surgery, and I also had fat grafting, so I had prepared myself for swelling (and I tend to swell easily as well), but I was really surprised because there was so little swelling. I did get bruising, and it was the worst around days 3 to 4 after surgery, but once it started fading, it was almost all gone over the weekend. I wondered whether my child would be startled seeing my eyes, but when I wore glasses, my child was not surprised and, seeming to think I looked better than expected, asked where I had it done. Before the surgery, I was nervous and asked several questions over KakaoTalk, and they responded well, and before, during, and after the surgery, just like in many other reviews here, the director took such meticulous care that there is no need to worry. I finished everything comfortably enough that the nervousness I had felt before surgery now seems almost pointless. Even while having revision surgery, I do not know how to put it, but I did not really have very specific requests ㅎㅎ, so I wondered whether I had failed to explain properly what I wanted. In truth, I had lived so long with asymmetrical eyes that I had accumulated a sense of giving up on them, so aside from wanting to fix the tired appearance, I was not even sure what I wanted, but the director already took care of it. Also, I liked the direction that was recommended, so I did not have much to say. ^^ It felt like I could just trust and follow. ^^ It was just that my husband kept nagging beside me, asking why I was even having surgery -.- It was not the kind of nagging worth listening to anyway, but because of that, I was a bit worried before surgery (rather, I was worried that revision surgery might change my impression), but now my husband is amazed and says that even revision surgery can look this natural. Please continue to take good care of me with the aftercare as well.
