While I was deciding between buried suture revision and excision, Dr. Kim Garam said I had enough excess tissue and that excision would actually be better, so I had revision surgery by excision on 2/27. Since I have sunken eyes without much fat, I was worried that with buried suture revision there would not be enough fat to lower to prevent adhesion, so in that sense I was rather relieved that it was done by excision. 2 mm was excised, and as you can see, there is no scleral show. My scar was also quite severe, so all of the scar tissue was removed, and when they opened it up, they said the adhesion along the previous line was quite strong, so if I had done buried suture revision, I likely would have ended up with a double fold. The height was lowered from 10 mm to 7 mm, the sausage-like look was improved, and the uneven semi-out line was changed to an in-out line. My eyelashes may not be very visible because they are permed right now, but there is no eyelash lifting. I did not have ptosis correction by my own choice. There is not much bruising, and the swelling is as you can see. If you look at the pre-op photo, there was also something like a red granuloma? milia? raised in front of my left eye, and the director also scraped that off with a CO2 laser during the eye surgery. The stitches were removed after 5 days, and the director told me it turned out well, so I feel so much more at ease now. They said they were going to do a swelling laser treatment as well, but since there was not much swelling, they gave me bruise cream instead haha After the revision surgery, I feel much better after having such a hard time because it had gone badly.
